Description

Join us for a thought-provoking evening with Max Stossel to discuss the challenges of parenting in a tech-heavy world. Delving deeper into the conversation started through the IndieFlix documentary, LIKE, Max will discuss specific ways social media and gaming technologies are designed to be both distracting and addictive, and how these attention-capturing constructs influence the developing minds of children and adolescents, as well as our own.

Max will share recommendations on how to improve focus, diminish distraction in learning environments, and create a healthier relationship with technology.

Biography

Max Stossel, award-winning poet, film-maker, and featured technologist in the film LIKE, is the Head of Education for the Center for Humane Technology, an organization of former tech insiders and CEOs dedicated to realigning technology with humanity’s best interests.

Before joining CHT, Max was a media strategist crafting social media strategies for multinational brands, and later at a startup where he designed some of the same notification structures to distract students that he now criticizes.
